The Day Before the Big Day(s) - aka San Francisco to Los Angeles

It has been a busy summer - to say the least - but the time for bike touring is upon us!  Our family has been busy with softball, baseball, swimming lessons, birthday parties, camping trips, and training for a bike tour.  Well... the time has arrived.  Tomorrow morning we pick it up at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and make our way to Los Angeles.

The bikes are ready and our things are nearly packed. Our maps and plans are in place, so hopefully things go nearly as planned.  Adventures (mishaps) add to the excitement, but hopefully most things will go according to plan!

My son and I will be heading to San Francisco in the morning from my wife's parents who live in Ripon, California.  Rob and two of the boys are driving up from Pescadero, Ca (where they are camping tonight).  Finally, Dal is flying in to San Francisco today and somehow getting to the bridge on his own.  Do taxi's have bike racks?  I'll have to ask him about that.

I do not feel too nervous about the trip - should I?  If anything, I am mainly concerned about safety on the roads and having enough water along the way.

Anyway, I'll post information about the trip when we get home in about a week.  Here's to hoping it is awesome!
